Read It Before You Eat It

Food labels are a wealth of information - perhaps too much, at times. Food labels can be confusing and full of terms you don’t understand and don’t have time to decipher.

When you’re faced with aisle after aisle of products with labels touting all kinds of claims about how healthy they are, what should you choose? That’s where my friend and fellow dietitian Bonnie Taub-Dix, MS, RD comes in.

Bonnie is the author of Read It Before You Eat It, a supermarket guide that will help you learn to read labels; determine if so-called healthier foods, such as “hormone-free” and “all natural” are really worth it; and help you make the right food choices for you and your family. Bonnie leaves no stone unturned when it comes to helping you figure out exactly what to buy when shopping for food. I highly recommend her book.
